Setbacks and Progress
Well, it's been a rough couple of weeks. Actually, it hasn't, but I've been snowed in two Wednesdays in a row, so I missed weigh-ins and then last week it was way too tricky to get to the gym, so I was completely off my program!
Well, I weighed in this week, slightly down from where I was three weeks ago, which is good, I suppose. (would have liked to see a big drop, but...) I am woefully behind in updating my chart, but have been keeping track on a notepad and will catch up as soon as my chart and my notepad and I are all in the same place at the same time.
I did get back into the gym Tuesday morning. Having had a week with pretty much zero cardio and two weeks off the weights (since I had injured my arm), I made a conscious decision to take it slow starting in, and set the treadmill for a 20 minute jog. I warmed up with fast walking for 90 seconds, then started in at a jog. And finished at a jog. 18 minutes straight jogging with no walk breaks! Now, it was a light pace and a low incline, but still...something is happening with my stamina, and I am most pleased. I'm thinking tomorrow morning I'll shoot for 2 ten-minute jogs flanking an abbreviated lower-body lifting workout. (Of course this all depends on how early I manage to roll my tuckus out of bed. Been a bit of a challenge lately.)
