What Am I Doing?

It seems nuts, but it also seems right. I know, I know, I have a system that "works", why mess with it?

Here's the reality of it: I've been plateauing lately and only seem to lose when I eat at the very bottom of my allowable range. When I eat towards the top of my "losing phase" range, I gain. Uh oh. Not good. This is a long term thing, and if my body's range keeps sliding down I'm going to be in starvation diet hell long term. It's a good thing to be on program, it's quite another to have program running your life.

So I've made a conscious choice to stay near (or possibly just slightly over) the top of my range for a few weeks. I know I'll gain. I hope I don't gain too much, but I'd rather gain a pound or two now than have to worry about gaining a pound every time I eat more than 7000 calories in a week for the rest of my life. It's all about balance, right?

I've been trying to eat more calorie dense foods so that I don't "stretch my stomach". One unfortunate side effect has been sugar cravings, but I've already discovered that those can be alleviated neatly with fresh fruit (what I can find in season.)

After this week, I plan to go back to strict OP-ness, with MIN and MAX weeks neatly spaced. I'm wondering if I'm deluding myself and I've given up. Am I justifying a binge? Will this work, or is it so much baloney? Only time (and personal honesty) will tell!

Been reading your blog girl. Your doing great keep up the good work. Yeah I hate the damn sugar crazys. I was able to balance that out better by drinking a small orange juice when a craving hits, than scarfing a snickers bar blah. The damn late night eating due to work schedule completely kills dieting, especially only 15 minute break, and the damn snack machine is staring at you, blah. So those have been my little battles, I still hate driving past skyline and smelling it boy talk about tempting. I have been trying the yoga you suggested a long time ago, that has helped. I cant sya though that Ive lost any significant amounts, but I have leveled of and not gained anymore so maybe thats a good start. Anyways glad to see this blog your doing keep posting. Hugs Selene
