My First Real Sewing Project in Years

I've been inspired. The resizing project spurred an invigorated interest in sewing for me, and now I've gathered together a number of patterns and am browsing the fabric aisles again. My first project was simple, just a plain circle skirt in throwaway broadcloth to practice seaming and hemming and putting in zippers. Then I tackled my Halloween costume (you'll see that in due time!) With a little confidence behind me and a great clearance fabric find, I decided to do a real skirt. Here is the finished project:

And the details:

  • Simplicity #4420 View B
  • Puzzle Fabric, 2 yards
  • Black zipper 7"
  • Black twill tape
  • matching plain black fabric, 1/4yrd
  • white satin piping, 1 yrd
