Amazing Graces
I lost this week. I didn't write a public blog entry on it, because I was in a very bad mood for absolutely no reason. I don't know why this happens, but it does. Hrm. Maybe it's the lack of high fructose corn syrup, although I'd say getting rid of most of that actually improved my mood most of the time.
Anyway, I went to weigh in completely expecting to have gained a pound or so, and found out I was down .2. It's not much, but it's not up, and it stands in my mind as further confirmation that the plateau is indeed busted. I'm certainly pleased with that.
This is a good thing, because I have cut down my activity a bit since I was sick. My body was getting used to more activity than I really had time for, and I'm getting very into sewing and crafting, so I wanted to focus on finding a sustainable level of activity. I'm practicing Asana for a half-hour every morning (building up a few minutes a week to an hour, hopefully). I've cut back on running, in part due to weather and not having the right gear for it (yet), but I'm trying to keep things moderate and reasonable. So far, so good. I've not noticed any marked lack of muscle tone, although it is possible I've shed some of the bulk. (I dropped nearly an inch in the calves in the past month. That's a lot.)
I found some interesting articles on iVillage about body shape and exercise that suggested my body type easily "bulks up" and I should resist the temptation to add more weight than necessary. They also said I'm not fat anymore. Interesting.
This weekend should be a blur. I have the Halloween party tomorrow night, and that's always our biggest affair of the year. I'm expecting upwards of 40 people this year. Ironically, this is usually a good weekend for my weight, as I rarely have time to eat much of the "party food". With any luck, I'll be down another half pound next week!

I found your blog through DWLZ. You have made an amazing journey and I'm so inspired by your example. I'm a WW member who has recently made lifetime but I have a few pounds to lose to reach my personal goal. I have a few questions: I wonder if you would explain about your min/max weeks - or if you already have, point me to the archived blog entry. Also, I've always done flex and wonder if perhaps core would help me to eat healthier. I sometimes really don't want to "spend" two points for oil or skim milk. I find myself passing up a banana for a WW lemon bar. That can't be good.
